From My Heart...

Isn't it exciting when God reveals Himself to us! God is truth. I trust that you will be encouraged and encourage others on your journey of finding God's truth in the everyday. Let us never compromise the TRUTH of God's Word and let us always seek to know more of the truth.

Try Honey in Your Coffee

I love Coffee! I drink coffee everyday at least 3 cups. I am not as extreme as some, but because I like cream and sugar in my coffee I need to watch it. As I tried to cut out some of the sugar from my daily grind, I decided to add a natural sweetener in my diet.

Honey.
My coffee is not one to mess with , but I thought I would give it a try and I really love honey in coffee. The taste is not the strong honey taste and I feel so much better using God's sweetener now.

Give HONEY a try, even in your coffee. I think you will be surprised how good it still is.

Do I Really Need to Join a Church?

"Do not forsake the assembling of yourselves together." Hebrews 10:25

Since Michael and I moved 3 years ago, we have been searching for a church to call home. Since we grew up going to one church our whole lives we didn't realize when it came to move that the search for a new church would be like looking for a familiar face in a crowd of 1000. Just when you think you spot one, the closer you get you realize it was not who you thought and you keep looking.

Through the journey I have realized how precious a home church is. We all need to be apart of one. I have missed having a group of people to sharpen me, know me, hold me accountable, encourage me, pray specifically for needs, and for me to serve, encourage, love on, teach, etc. It goes both ways.

This week we officially joined this awesome church we have been at since June and we love it. My 3 kids love it, my husband loves it, and I love it. God moved us around for almost 3 years and we were getting quite discouraged at times. Just when we thought we would join a church we realized..."NO WAY". I want to look forward to going to church. I feel so good that I can really get involved now and serve the Lord how He wants. We are grateful for the lessons that God taught us along the way and will use them to His glory, but I encourage any readers to get in a church and plant your feet there or you will miss so much of what God has.

"CHURCH SHOPPERS VS CHURCH HOPPERS"

Are you "Church Hopping?"...going from church to church with no commitment in mind for any church you just want to see what is out there and meet people. You look for the negative.

1. Stop. You will never find the perfect church, we're people, we will fail each other. My guess is you need to work on relationship skills, forgiveness, and contentment. Don't be afraid to serve.
2. You are hurting the body of Christ when you jump around to churches all the time. We need to be able to trust and count on each other as much as possible.
3. When people find out you "hop" around, they might not take you seriously.
4. Ask God to show you why you can't be happy in one church, and be ready to hear His answer and respond obediently. You can't be effective for God apart from a church. I believe that with all my heart.

Are you "Church Shopping"...know you need a church and are looking for a place to call home as soon as possible.

1. Ask questions right away. Get to know the Pastor, he sets the pace for the whole church.
2. Don't settle. My husband and I almost settled for a church because we were tired of looking. We would go somewhere for months only to realize we don't agree with doctrine, evangelism was void, etc. We are so glad we did not settle.
3. Consider your kids. Kids will likely grow up in a church, make sure they will have decent friends to choose from and teachers that are not all "entertainment" based. Your kids may hide their feelings about churches, but do need to be heard. They also need to give new places a try as well. Keep a good balance.
4. Ask God to lead and then listen to His voice. He does have a plan for us regarding our church family.
